This historical drama examines the origin of Wonder Woman and the circumstances of her creator, Dr. William Moulton Marston. During the 1940s, Dr. Marston conceptualized the comic book character partly through the inspiration he drew from his and his wife’s polyamorous relationship with another woman. The pioneering trio worked together on Marston’s human behavior research while keeping their unconventional relationship hidden from the public eye. “Professor Marston and the Wonder Women,” in theaters October 13, 2017, is rated R.
