U.S. Navy veteran Al Kovach was paralyzed during a training exercise that involved him jumping from a plane. Although the impact broke his neck and severed his spinal cord, he credits the Paralyzed Veterans of America for giving him hope and inspiration that he could live his life to the fullest. The veterans charity is actively seeking donations in order to continue its mission of providing medical care and research for veterans who have suffered traumatic spinal injuries.
