Budweiser Super Bowl Commercials
Budweiser returned to the Super Bowl and although they didn’t feature their traditional Clydesdales, the brand did celebrate their 141 years of business with a 60-second commercial. 'Born the Hard Way' showed the story of Budweiser's founder, Adolphus Busch, and his journey from Germany to St. Louis, where he met his future business partner, Eberhard Anheuser. The spot quickly gained popularity when it was released on January 31st, generating nearly half of its Earned Views before game day. It maintained this traction, taking the title as the second most digitally engaging commercial of Super Bowl LI. Last year, the beer brewer aired two ads: one featuring British actress Helen Mirren politely telling off drunk drivers and encouraging viewers to #GiveADamn. The other, titled 'Not Backing Down,' was a continuation of Budweiser's 'Brewed the Hard Way' campaign. These ads from past Super Bowls came in 4th and 20th place, respectively, in our game-day digital engagement rankings.
