Nitram, an isolated young man living with his mother and father in mid-1990s Australia, seemingly finds a respite for his loneliness when he forges a connection with a reclusive heiress. However, a sudden schism in the relationship pushes Nitram to extremes of misanthropy beyond anything he's experienced previously. His mental stability hangs in the balance as he feels himself compelled toward the path of violence and self-destruction.
