In this Campbell's Soup commercial, a gay couple enjoys lunchtime with their son in the kitchen. They take turns feeding him Star Wars soup, using their best Darth Vader impressions to encourage him. One dad says, "Cooper, I am your father" while the other jokingly declares that he is the father. Only one dad can be Darth Vader. But, there is always room for Chewbacca at the table.

iSpot Review - December 13, 2017

Campbell Soup's campaign is titled, "Made for Real, Real Life." and features a gay couple mimicking their favorite Star Wars characters. No music is used, no flashy graphics of any sort, no random Star Wars characters with blaster fire and lightsabers, none. Just real interactions between real family members to drive home the campaign slogan. They each try their best to summon their inner-Sith Lord to tell their son while feeding him, that they are his father. A little friendly banter between the couple leads to one of them attempting his best Chewbacca howl, noticeably after losing out on the Darth Vader attempt.

Although the campaign itself features multiple ads with different people, what truly makes this ad one to appreciate are the fathers' attempts at uttering the famous line said by Darth Vader during Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back. Campbell's was wise to incorporate the Star Wars universe onto the labels of their soup cans.
