Chevy went through extensive focus group testing to find out what you want. It's turns out you want a truck. You know you want a truck. Trucks can change the way you look at people, and if there was ever a truck to change how people see you, it's the all-new 2015 Chevrolet Colorado.

Are you for real, Chevrolet? This commercial gives us man-off-the-street focus groups to study how Colorado trucks make men more appealing?

Part of the joy in this spot, and others like it, is that it has a faux-realism that makes it fun for audiences to engage the characters as themselves. The tease of information, that maybe there is research on this, is a great enticement for further audience engagement after viewing.

The faux-realism makes it easier to rationalize both sides of the argument. There's no way that a truck makes someone seem more attractive to others. No way. Right? Maybe it could, I suppose. Right?

Therein lies the hook. It's funny enough and absurd enough to draw us in and start thinking, but it's also real enough that we're probably thinking about it long after we've seen it.
