In an ode to Rob Lowe's impressions in the previous DirecTV commercials, we see the well-dressed, professional looking Eli Manning next to Bad Comedian Eli Manning, a man in old clothes who makes cringe-worthy jokes and uses cable. The New York Giants football player chooses to have NFL Sunday Ticket on DirecTV, which provides every football game every Sunday in HD.

iSpot Review — July 29, 2015

DirecTV's 'Don't Be Like This Me' campaign lives on, but with a new spokesperson: NFL quarterback, Eli Manning.

Rob Lowe may have left some big shoes to fill, but it looks like Manning has risen to the challenge as a sleazy comedian with a penchant for finger guns. He fully commits to the role and definitely gets across the "don't be a schmuck, get DirecTV" messaging that DirecTV has trademarked. Given that the focus is on the NFL Sunday Ticket package, he's certainly a perfect fit for the part. We can't wait to see what other creepy characters Manning has in store for us.
