"Human skin is my passion," actor Michael Cera says, during Super Bowl LVIII as he holds up a tub of CeraVe Moisturizing Cream. Mysterious and otherworldly music swells in the opaque, curtain-lined room, highlighting an undercurrent of whispering yet somehow distant romance. Michael IS CeraVe, and this is HIS cream. Even the sheer rock face of a looming cliff will feel the hydrating power of his lotion. As Michael poses with models, the camera cuts back, to show Mr. Cera presenting his commercial to the CeraVe office Dermatologist Review. None of the professionals in the room seem excited, as Michael awkwardly tries to explain how his name, Cera, and CeraVe are so similar. It would be the perfect crossover. They say a joke doesn't work if you have to explain it, Michael. Sorry to say, this CeraVe will be developed with dermatologists only.
