When Jojo "Rabbit" Betzler is sent to a boys' boot camp to aid Hitler's armies in WWII Germany, he finds himself overwhelmed with the sudden barrage of battle tactics and book-burning. He copes by talking with his idiotic imaginary friend, Adolf Hitler, a personification of Jojo's own blind nationalism. However, his path to Nazism takes an abrupt turn when he discovers a young Jewish girl hiding in their attic, sheltered by his secretly anti-Nazi mother. As the children bond and become unlikely friends, Jojo must figure out what he truly believes and who he wants to become in a war-torn world. "Jojo Rabbit," rated PG-13, hits theaters October 18, 2019.
