The Independent Restaurant Coalition discusses the enormous impact that the pandemic shutdowns have had on the restaurant industry. The organization says that 85 percent of neighborhood restaurants could be permanently closed and a quarter of those who lost their jobs during the COVID-19 crisis were restaurant workers.
