After losing his job and his sense of purpose in life, Jerry temporarily abandons his wife, Jeanette, and their son, Joe, to help fight a fire raging near the Canadian border. Jeanette's own self determination and involvement are disruptive enough amid the expectations of a 1960s nuclear family, but when she is forced to provide for her family alone she struggles to keep her head above water. Meanwhile, Joe is thrust into adulthood prematurely and must watch the deterioration of his parents' relationship while trying to help support his mother in his father's absence. "Wildlife," in theaters Oct. 19, 2018, is rated PG-13.
