Actor Matthew McConaughey strides confidently out of a music hall, with fireworks exploding behind him and a bottle of Wild Turkey Bourbon clenched in his hand. The single "Testify" from Davie blares out from speakers as McConaughey passes the R&B singer's roadie truck, a lively club and a woman on her phone who gives him a sideways glance. "We didn't set out to make a hit," he says as he passes by all these distractions and sits down next to Davie around a roaring fire and pours him a drink. "We just sang our song."
