About Bank of America Merrill Lynch TV Commercial, 'Giving Back'
In the 1960s, Rosa Porto began making cakes to sell in her neighborhood to support her family after being fired from her job. The necessity to provide for the family combined with her hard work ethic would open new doors, including a new chapter for her family when they left Cuba for hopes of a better life in the United States of America. With success from their first bakery in California, Porto's opened its first business account with Bank of America and saw the business expand to multiple locations with a reputation for tasty pastries and long lines. Rosa Porto is retired now, but her views on how food is love and that it brings people together hasn't changed since the day she began selling cakes from her doorstep in Cuba.
