Hotels.com TV Commercial, 'Drill Sergeant'
When you book your lodging with Hotels.com or its app, the company says you might get used to being rewarded. That's usually good news, but when you are a private in the military who's being told to drop and do 50 push-ups, it might not be best to ask, "What's in it for me?" A private does just this after he gets caught with his phone during a training exercise. Instead of listening to his drill sergeant, he sees Hotels.com spokesperson Captain Obvious behind the sergeant and corrects his superior when the sergeant assumes Captain Obvious is lower rank. Of course, Captain Obvious truly is lower rank, except on television, where he helps tell people that they can earn rewards and unlock free nights by booking with Hotels.com.
