Kia 2011 Super Bowl Commercial, One Wild Ride

In this Kia ad that aired during Super Bowl XLV on February 6, 2011, a man and woman are handcuffed to a police motorcycle, and the officer steals their Optima. As the officer makes his getaway, a man in a helicopter fires a missile that attaches a suction cup to the car. The aircraft lifts the vehicle off the road and the officer jumps out of the driver’s seat into the water below. Just as the helicopter is about to reach a large yacht, the god Poseidon emerges out of the sea and grabs the Kia for himself. When he holds it aloft in his hand, however, a green abduction beam from an alien spacecraft carries the car away once again. Back on the aliens’ home planet, the extraterrestrials are taking the Optima for a test drive when a wormhole opens up and transports the Kia and its driver to an ancient Mesoamerican society. The people’s ruler summoned the car while standing in front of a pyramid, and all of the spectators start to cheer.
