About 2018 Volkswagen Atlas TV Commercial, 'America' Song by Simon & Garfunkel [T1]

Sometimes, the people who aren't with you for an experience are just as important as the people who are. Though he has passed on, a grandfather leaves a letter to his wife. Travel, he writes, and go see the great country of America he dreamed of exploring since the moment he moved there. The grieving widow and her family take in the stunning panoramas, mountains and coastlines the United States has to offer as they traverse the country in their 2018 Volkswagen Atlas. The time spent together allows them lots of opportunities for the grandchildren to learn more about their grandparents, including how they met, and to wonder what their grandfather would've been like on the trip. Simon & Garfunkel's "America" plays as they cross snowy passes and kick up dust in the Southwest in the SUV. When they reach the West Coast, the family takes the ashes of their loved one up on the rocky coastline to watch the sun set over the Pacific.
