A man has had too many drinks at the bar and briefly thinks about calling for a ride, but he decides that he lives nearby. He thinks to himself "what's the worst that could happen?" The NHTSA can think of a tsunami of things that could happen. Consequences range from getting pulled over or losing your license to the worst - you kill someone. The NHTSA says to only drive sober or you will get pulled over.
