Young actress Jean Seberg (Kristen Stewart) seemed to be destined for a wildly successful career after becoming an icon of the French New Wave for her starring role in Jean-Luc Godard's "Breathless." However, after she becomes politically and romantically involved with civil rights activist Hakim Jamal (Anthony Mackie), Seberg attracts the attention of the FBI's surveillance program COINTELPRO. The spying and harassment that ensues sends Seberg into a downward, self-destructive spiral that culminates in untimely tragedy. "Seberg," in theaters December 13, 2019, is rated R.
