McDonald's discusses the Howard Theatre in Washington D.C. in this Black History Month spotlight. Before the Apollo Theater, there was the Howard Theatre. When it opened in 1910, it was the largest black theater in the world. The Howard Theatre is said to have hosted many of the great black musicians of the early 20th century and launched the careers of some of the city's music icons.
