During the summer of 1969, right around the time of Woodstock, another music festival took place in Harlem, at which a retinue of the most renowned Black artists performed at the height of their powers, including Stevie Wonder, Nina Simone and B.B. King. The hitherto unseen footage from the event has been reviewed and cut together for the first time, offering a definitive account of one of the most significant yet unknown musical events in the history of America. "Summer of Soul," rated PG-13, is available July 2, 2021.
