In a star-studded film directed by Woodie Allen and set in the 1930s, Bobby Dorfman (Jesse Eisenberg) moves to Hollywood in pursuit of an exciting career. He lands a job working for his uncle, but things become complicated when he falls in love with Vonnie (Kristen Stewart), his employer's mistress. Unable to be more than a friend to her, Bobby returns to the Bronx, heartbroken. Before long, he falls for another woman while working at night club and everything seems to be looking up for him -- until Vonnie walks back into his life.
