University of Notre Dame TV Commercial, 'Fighting to Prevent Homelessness'
Faron Brinkley shares how the pandemic had affected his life. He lost his job and ended up homeless as a result. The University of Notre Dame's Wilson Sheehan Lab for Economic Opportunities studied Chicago's Homeless Prevention Call Center. The study showed that people who received a one time emergency financial assistance payment were 76% less likely to become homeless. Because Brinkley received financial assistance, he was able to overcome his crisis. The University of Notre Dame asks what you would fight for; Professor Bill Evans at the Department of Economics says he fights to prevent homelessness.
