I can't be the only one watching this new Pokemon ad from Nintendo who is taken back to Saturday morning commercial breaks as a kid. The very best of them had that air of adventure and sense that the next great kid dream is just on the horizon.

Forget that the ad is for Pokemon, and that Pikachu could mow his lawn and get 50,000 online views. The creative is so evocative and founded on that Saturday morning spirit, that even without the celebrity brand, the spot works.

What puts this ad over the top is that Nintendo has new product lines to extend for the Pokemon brand. Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire hit shelves just in time for Holiday shopping. And in the end, isn't that what the Saturday morning TV experience was really all about...shopping?
