Honda 2012 Super Bowl Commercial, Matthew’s Day Off

Matthew Broderick has a day off in the Honda 2012 Super Bowl retelling of his iconic movie, “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off.” He calls in sick to work and does many of the things he did in the film, with corresponding shots and even lines. His employers “bought it.” The valet who brings up his Honda CR-V calls out “Broderick, Broderick” instead of “Bueller, Bueller.” When he drives up to a light and looks over to see his boss in the car next to him, he hides a gigantic stuffed panda in the passenger seat to hide himself. He goes to the museum and a parade. As he walks up to a restaurant and hands his keys off to the valet, Broderick says his famous line, “Life moves pretty fast. If you don’t stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.” The entirety even includes background music that was featured in the film: “Oh Yeah” by Yello.
