The Big Ten Conference puts a spotlight on Greg Bashford, PhD, PE and Steven Barlow, PhD -- professors of biomedical engineering and special education and communication disorders, respectively -- who break down a developing technology designed to help protect the brain at the onset of a stroke. The pair say their goal with the device, which stimulates the hands and face with puffs of air to help blood flow to the brain, is to expand the toolbox of severity-reduction interventions and increase standard of care for patients.
