A gifted ten-year-old (T.S. Spivet) who invents a perpetual motion machine on his family's ranch in Montana is awarded the prestigious Baird Prize by the Smithsonian Institution in Washington. He secretly leaves his family's ranch and travels across the country aboard a freight train to go claim his award. But, no one there thinks that the lucky winner is a child with a dark secret. "The Young and Prodigious T.S. Spivet," in theaters July 31, 2015, is rated PG.
