But beyond the action on the field, there was plenty happening on-screen during the commercials.&nbsp;<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:30px\"><strong>Topline Stats<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:18px\">According to our always-on TV ad measurement and attribution platform, 55 advertisers generated $476 million in ad revenue for Fox. In total, there were 60 national ad spots, plus 25 promos \u2014 resulting in 59.9 minutes of national ad time. Gameday spots also generated 1.06 million social interactions a social reach of 8.2 billion<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:30px\"><strong>Automakers Had a Big Game&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:18px\">Auto ads won the game, with 28% of digital share of voice related to the industry&#8217;s Super Bowl spots from brands like Jeep, GMC, Hyundai, and others. With its <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ispot.tv\/ad\/ZEr1\/2020-jeep-gladiator-super-bowl-2020-groundhog-day-featuring-bill-murray-song-by-sonny-and-cher-t1\">&#8220;Groundhog Day&#8221;-themed ad, Jeep owned digital share of voice<\/a> at over 14%, followed by Facebook (7.7%), GMC (6.3%), Disney+ (5.3%) and Google (3.7%).<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:30px\"><strong>Notable Themes&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:18px\">Many brands integrated throwbacks or elements to invoke nostalgia in their ads. Jeep wasn\u2019t the only one using a classic film, either. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ispot.tv\/ad\/ZERX\/mountain-dew-zero-sugar-super-bowl-2020-as-good-as-the-original-feat-bryan-cranston-tracee-ellis\">Mountain Dew\u2019s spot used iconic moments from \u201cThe Shining,\u201d<\/a> with Bryan Cranston playing Jack Torrance. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ispot.tv\/ad\/ZErL\/discover-card-super-bowl-2020-no-we-dont-charge-annual-fees\">Discover<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ispot.tv\/ad\/ZErw\/discover-card-super-bowl-2020-yes-were-accepted\">Card<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ispot.tv\/ad\/ZERl\/walmart-grocery-pickup-super-bowl-2020-famous-visitors\">Walmart<\/a> incorporated clips and characters from famous flicks in their ads, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ispot.tv\/ad\/ZERc\/avocados-from-mexico-super-bowl-2020-the-avocados-from-mexico-shopping-network-featuring-molly-ring\">a spot from Avocados from Mexico starred Molly Ringwald<\/a> of Brat Pack fame, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ispot.tv\/ad\/ZEjX\/sodastream-super-bowl-2020-water-on-mars-fresh-sparkling-water-in-seconds-featuring-bill-nye\">Bill Nye (the Science Guy) appeared in SodaStream\u2019s ad<\/a>.&nbsp;<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:18px\">Diversity and inclusion were also key themes: Olay\u2019s spot \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ispot.tv\/ad\/ZERi\/olay-super-bowl-2020-make-space-for-women-ft-taraji-p-henson-lilly-singh-katie-couric-busy-phi\">Make Space for Women<\/a>\u201d featured an all-star female cast including Taraji P. Henson, Lilly Singh, Katie Couric, Busy Phillips and Nicole Stott. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ispot.tv\/ad\/ZErb\/microsoft-super-bowl-2020-be-the-one-featuring-katie-sowers\">Microsoft\u2019s ad for the Surface<\/a> put a spotlight on San Francisco 49ers offensive assistant coach Katie Sowers, who is not only the first female coach to go to the Super Bowl, but also the first openly LGBTQ+ coach.
