During last Thursday night\u2019s 2015 NFL Kickoff between the New England <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/New_England_Patriots\">Patriots<\/a> and the Pittsburgh <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Pittsburgh_Steelers\">Steelers<\/a>, 84 brands aired 144 ads for a total estimated ad spend of $37,024,217; a roughly 12 percent increase from the previous year.* In addition to spending more, advertisers also used the first game of the season to debut new ads, with 12 new spots airing during the game.<br \/>\n<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>New England Patriots quarterback <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ispot.tv\/topic\/athlete\/wB\/tom-brady\">Tom Brady<\/a> led the charge not only on the field, but with new creatives, starring in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ispot.tv\/brands\/d0L\/under-armour\">Under Armour<\/a>\u2019s latest ad, \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ispot.tv\/ad\/AkqS\/under-armour-rule-yourself-featuring-tom-brady\">Rule Yourself<\/a>.\u201d So far, the spot has earned 153,992 online views and an impressive 96 percent positive iSpot.tv Tweet Sentiment score. Other brands who rolled out new spots during the NFL Kickoff include:<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ispot.tv\/ad\/Akqo\/samsung-wireless-charging-its-not-a-phone-its-a-galaxy\"> Samsung<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ispot.tv\/ad\/AkOX\/bud-light-my-team-can-stealers-vs-patriots\">Bud Light<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ispot.tv\/ad\/AkOz\/geico-countdown-its-what-you-do-song-by-europe\">GEICO<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ispot.tv\/ad\/AkOx\/destiny-the-taken-king-evils-most-wanted-song-by-led-zeppelin\">Activision<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ispot.tv\/ad\/Akqy\/verizon-better-matters\">Verizon<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The one major ad trend of the night was, unsurprisingly, football themed ads. In addition to Under Armour, everyone from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ispot.tv\/ad\/79EX\/directv-nfl-sunday-ticket-petite-randy-moss\">DirecTV<\/a> to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ispot.tv\/ad\/Aktu\/hyundai-2016-tuscon-nfl-sponsorship-d-gate\">Hyundai<\/a> got in on the action, and nearly 20 percent of the commercials ended up being football related.
