Upfronts: Turner Networks

TURNER NETWORKS: Cartoon Network (including Adult Swim), CNN, HLN (Headline News), TBS, TNT, TruTV

For the first time, Turner Networks is compiling all its TV properties into one Upfront presentation, hoping to lure advertisers on its combined strength and reach rather than each individual channel carrying its own weight. Its Cartoon Network emerged as a powerhouse for Movie advertising, while TNT has stepped up its game with sports programming to attract a variety of blue chip advertisers, most notably automakers.

Part of this consolidation will feature Turner’s “Targeting Now” initiative, a viewer-targeting system designed to help brands fine-tune the which ads are presented to what viewers using advanced data and analytic processes rather than traditional ratings numbers.
