Though little may have felt the same during this NFL season, some things never change; Including NFL games once again being the top program on TV for ad impressions, with more than 2.5x the nearest competitor. Even with NFL TV ad impressions dropping 16.9% year over year amid a hectic fall schedule, there were still plenty of positives to note as the dust settled on the regular season:

  • Estimated TV ad spend during NFL games was up 15.2% year over year
  • Nearly half of the top 20 brand advertisers increased impressions from 2019
  • Postmates and delivery services made a big splash
  • Industries like pharma, home & real estate, restaurants, and health & beauty all increased
